Frequently asked questions

What is options flow?
Options flow is the stream of options trades executing across exchanges. Reading it shows where large traders are putting money: which strikes and expirations, calls or puts, and whether they bought at the ask or sold at the bid.
What is a sweep?
A sweep is a single order split across several exchanges to fill quickly at the best available prices. Sweeps signal urgency, which is why traders watch them closely.
How do I find unusual options activity?
Filter the flow for trades whose size is large relative to open interest or average volume, for big premium, and for opening trades at the ask. Saved filters can also send you alerts when matching trades print.
Is there a free options flow feed?
Yes. The free feed shows today's options flow for a few tickers, with prices shown 15 minutes after each trade. Paid plans cover every ticker in real time, with alerts.
